Navigating 2024 | Life In Progress

Happy New Year! Can ya’ll believe we’re in 2024!? I mean, seriously, where are all those flying cars they promised would be taking over by now? And on top of that, this year holds the incredible milestone of two whole decades since I graduated high school! It's a surreal realization, taking a moment to look back at the journey from those high school hallways to the present moment. Time really does have a way of sneaking up on us, doesn't it?

I'm sure many of you can relate—life has been truly "life'ing." It's been a while since I last shared a blog, with my last post dating back to October. Now, I'm excited to reconnect and share some life updates as I get back to my regularly scheduled postings.

Since my last post, I turned 37 years young. (BIG Scorpio Energy) and to celebrate, my husband and I traveled to Sedona, Arizona and stayed at the beautiful Ambiente Resort. This resort was the definition of luxurious and one of the top places I have ever stayed in my life. As soon as we checked in, we were welcomed with a glass of champagne, our room was furnished with a complimentary bottle of wine from a local winery, and we also attended a cocktail mixing class where we learned how to make a top shelf Cadillac margarita.

The highlight of the trip was our visit to the Grand Canyon. Standing on the edge of the canyon I felt a profound sense of awe that made me realize how small we are in the grand scheme of things. I had a list of doubts, worries and stressors that I had written down & dropped them in the canyon (discreetly), symbolizing me leaving all the bullshit behind and starting new.

After we returned from Sedona, I had to prepare for my book signing at the Texas Book Festival in Austin, Tx. The experience was a dream come true, providing me with the opportunity to not only meet one of my favorite authors but also connect with the incredible supporters of my work. Fragile Ties, my latest creation, peaked to Number 3 on Amazon New Releases in its very first week. The outpouring of support has been overwhelming, and I'm immensely grateful for the journey of bringing this story to life and sharing it with such an engaged and appreciative audience. This milestone only fuels my passion for storytelling, and I can't wait to see where this literary adventure takes us next.

Stepping into the holiday season, my focus shifted towards creating meaningful family moments. I was determined to emphasize family time, so I embarked on an evening of warmth and togetherness for our Thanksgiving dinner. In the heart of our home, I set the stage for a memorable evening. The aroma of a homemade dinner filled the air as I cooked, and the twinkling candle lights cast a soft glow on our festive table. Taking extra care with the decorations, I aimed to create an inviting atmosphere.

Gathering my husband and kids around, we shared a "sit-down" dinner with no electronics or distractions—a deliberate choice to foster a deeper connection. As the candles flickered and the holiday tunes played softly, we engaged in heartfelt conversations. I seized the opportunity to talk to our kids about life, dreams, and the importance of family bonds.

In that intimate setting, the Grand Canyon's wisdom resonated. Just as I had let go of worries into its depths, this evening became a space to share, connect, and appreciate the precious moments with the ones I hold dear. The holiday season, infused with the spirit of family, unfolded as a time of genuine joy and closeness.

Transitioning from the warmth of family gatherings, my husband and I decided to welcome the New Year with a focus on intimate moments and shared connections. Can you tell that quality time is my love language? Leaving behind the familiar, we found ourselves in Dubai ready to embrace the magic of the upcoming year.

Our New Year's adventure was nothing short of extraordinary, filled with a blend of thrilling activities and meaningful experiences. Amid the festivities, the joyous engagement of one of my dearest friends added a heartfelt touch to the trip. Reflecting on her journey, I couldn't help but feel a deep sense of happiness for my friend. Being part of such a significant moment not only enriched our New Year's experience but also left a lasting impression of the power of love and the joy that comes with witnessing those we care about find their happily ever after.

Fast-forwarding to January 2024, the tapestry of our lives continues to weave a story of growth, achievement and shared dreams. My baking has flourished, turning a passion into a thriving venture. As a full-time mom-ager for my daughter's lemonade stand, I find joy in nurturing her entrepreneurial spirit. Meanwhile, my son has embarked on a successful sports filming business, capturing moments that resonate with athletes and fans alike. In the world of real estate, my husband's endeavors have prospered, adding another layer of success to our journey.

As a family, we stand at the intersection of individual aspirations and collective goals. With each member contributing their unique talents and passions, our household has become a hub of creativity and achievement.

Thank you for being a part of my journey. Stay tuned for weekly blog posts as we continue to explore new adventures and celebrate milestones together. Your ongoing support means a lot, and I look forward to sharing more with you in the weeks to come. Cheers to the future! 🌟
